Land-based

There is nothing you miss by travelling from Weipa on a daily basis as there is so much outstanding flyfishing within easy reach of Weipa.  Your guide meets you at your accommodation and all boats are specialised flats boats, which are ideal for top end flyfishing.    Charters can be half or full day but we recommend that you travel to Weipa, settle in and relax, meet your guide that afternoon and plan a full days flyfishing the next day.  An ideal itinerary would be:

• Fly from Cairns to Weipa arriving after lunch
• Spend an afternoon exploring Weipa or wandering on the foreshore where you might expect to catch some good fish.  Relax and have a nice dinner that night with the opportunity of discussing the next days flyfishing with your guide. 
• Travel with your guide to the boat early next morning and spend the day on the water experiencing the best flyfishing on offer.  This can be repeated for as many days as you wish.
• On the last day we suggest a slow morning, lazy breakfast, maybe a morning swim in the pool and transfer to the airport for the flight home.

All flights to Weipa leave from Cairns and are a little restricted

as it is not a big destination.  Accommodation can be booked from

Hotel rooms through to 4 star resort.

Land based flyfishing allows you to be totally flexible with the time

you have available all you need do is allow for time to fly to Weipa and back.
