A Personal Invitation

Remember when people say “lifes too short”; “Go grab the moment”; “Just do it” and all those positive sayings designed to get you motivated.  Well here is your big opportunity ….but don’t read on unless we have at least sparked a glimmer of interest.

So what is this all about?  Well flyfishing of course …..what else?

Mmmm you say …fishing?   Well actually no!  We might have told you about our exploits here in Australia and overseas …particularly New Zealand …we regularly take off to destinations far and wide but none really capture our imagination more than the South Island of New Zealand.  There we relax, sit by calm lakes or rushing rivers, get lost in the scenery (actually get lost too J)  and stalk the infamous Kiwi Brown and Rainbow Trout which regularly are over that magic 5lb mark.

BUT you say!  We don’t fish …let alone FLYFISH!!!

BUT we say …. Flyfishing is actually not fishing in real terms, its more like the hunt, the deception, the careful cast presenting what you think is the food of the day be it a small insect or fish pattern. Then you hope there is the take, after which all hell breaks loose and you are left to do battle with your quarry.  If you win you may choose to liberate your beaten adversary or sometimes the odd trout makes it back to end up smoked or prepared in some well deserved manner.

Ohhhh yes you said you couldn’t flyfish!  Well actually we have that covered as we are well skilled in introducing you to what has become a lifetime passion for many men and women around the world (in fact the biggest group of sportspeople in existence is the “International Women’s Flyfishing Association” so watch out guys!

Believe us when we say…the above only taps the surface of just how fabulous an experience this is.  As they say …trust us… you won’t forget it.

(Just look at that Zinc smile of Sue’s…does this say it all?  That’s her first ever Brown Trout on Dry Fly?)

So whats the plot?   Cut to the chase!  Get down to basics…

Okay here it is….  your chance to travel with us to the South Island of New Zealand and in doing so are offering the opportunity to come over to experience and share with us all that we find so fascinating.

We will base ourselves in very agreeable self catering accommodation on a lake we’ll have a suitable vehicle and generally make arrangements for everything you might need while there.  To keep it simple we’ll be there first to arrange for all food, drinks and anything else needed and proceed to look after you from arrival through to departure.  And then there is the end of day socializing ….  arguably the best bit.

Of course there is lots of showing you the flyfishing ropes followed by plenty of time outdoors.   Our intent is to make sure that you enjoy yourself to the full.

Sounds expensive?  Well not really, we have purposefully selected self catering accommodation so that you can experience the real New Zealand.  No top end fishing lodges or 5 star hotels, this is the way we do it and believe us when we say we have one hell of a good time.  Trips like these get us all flyfishing, enjoying the company of our good friends and enjoying life …what more is there?  Ohhhh yea riding Harleys, Skiing, travelling, etc etc … Mmmmm there are a few other things aren’t there?

So what about the real cost of all of this?  Well firstly there are the flights to and from either Christchurch or Queenstown (this is your responsibility).  Then the cost is based on how long you will be staying (please try to make it at least a week, number in your party and any specific needs.  You’ll need some gear but we can work that out …probably clothing may be something that you have to get organized beforehand (we assist with that too).  Just ask about cost you may be surprised.

By the way we aren’t that insistent on you flyfishing all the time, Sue is always quick to suggest a shopping trip to Wanaka or Queenstown and then there are two “local” hotels to visit!

So what is it we need right now?   Well simply an expression of interest so that we can firm up some planning …. There is no obligation and as far as dates are concerned its first in best dressed.  Email us and lets chat about it and hopefully make some plans.

By Kind Regards

Lou & Sue
